Software House
In 2004, the White House issued a Homeland Security Presidential Directive (HSPD-12) that called for the creation of a new standard for secure and reliable identification credentials for Federal employees and contractors. The National Institute of Standards (NIST) was assigned the lead role for creating this new standard. In February 2005, NIST issued Federal Information Processing Standard 201 (FIPS 201). This solution paper contains a summary of the FIPS 201 requirements and Software House's plans to meet the PIV-II requirements of FIPS-201.
